Pergo Academy produces first Master Installers
09 March 2015
The first two Master Installers have just graduated from the brand new Pergo Academy. The two French installers completed an intensive crash course at UNILIN’s state-of-the-art training centre in Wielsbeke.
Their companies - ACM Corre and Menuiserie Service - are entitled to display the quality label for three years. Besides a guarantee of quality, this label also provides exclusive advantages and maximum support.
The Pergo Academy was created in 2014 and applies the same successful formula as the Quick-Step Academy in the UK. Around 200 Master Installers have graduated from the Quick-Step Academy since 2010, and its quality label has since become a respected reference on the British market. The Academy at the production site in Wielsbeke is targeted at Belgian, Dutch and French flooring professionals. The ambition is to expand the centre of expertise in these areas into a benchmark for training in the flooring industry.
The Pergo Academy welcomes laminate, parquet and vinyl installers and retailers. Installers with at least two years’ experience can come to brush up on their knowledge and skills. An intensive training course focuses on a thorough evaluation of every project before installation.
During installation itself, the course examines the challenges and obstacles that can crop up. The course ends with an installation test and a formal evaluation. Successful participants can call themselves Master Installers for the next three years.
The Pergo Project Training Course, on the other hand, is aimed at installers and contractors who work for architects, project managers and coordinators. They learn how to anticipate possible problems during the preparation, start-up and implementation of a project. With a mixture of theory and practice, course participants will find out all kinds of tips and tricks to help them complete their task successfully.
On the project market, Pergo means quality. Because a careful installation is every bit as important as the quality of the materials, the Academy contributes to maintaining that great reputation. “This means our customers can rest assured of perfect installation in a project context,” explains Country Director France Maxime Lengelé. “The combination of product quality and installation quality is a strategy that fits perfectly with Pergo’s values.”

There are a range of advantages for Master Installers themselves as well. Pergo puts them in the spotlight on its own website and also gives the installers unique promotional material such as window stickers and brochure holders to help them draw extra attention to their qualification themselves. They also benefit from a competitive market advantage, because they are the only ones who can claim the Pergo quality guarantee. This means that customers who make use of their services will receive a two-year installation guarantee from Pergo. What is more, the Master Installers receive support in the form of exclusive discounts and technical support.
