Scandinavian design, with pine as the preferred wood species, remains very popular. It’s no coincidence that “brushed white pine” is one of the designs that stands out in the new Sensation laminate collection.
Oke Nollet, design director at Pergo, recalls how the white pine originated.
“During a vacation in Norway, I was amazed by the look of the brushed pine covering the walls. Because of its softness and dust attracting characteristics, however, this wood species couldn’t be used on the floor. This inspired me to create a laminate brushed soft wood alternative that would be perfect for flooring. So I decided to contact the local timber yard, carefully selected a number of original wooden planks, and sent them back to our factory. The R&D team further processed these originals to make prototypes with a good balance in colour, structure and design. The ultimate goal was to create a perfect, natural looking pine floor. Yet, whereas real softwood floors are prone to denting, the Pergo Sensation laminate version finally allows people to use pine in highly trafficked areas as well, without the risk of damage from, for example, high heels.”

Combining exclusive, natural designs with Pergo’s trademark durability, Sensation laminate couples a fully-closed, waterproof surface with an enhanced PerfectFold™ drop-down system that enables quick and easy installation.
Durability, beauty and ease of use: these are the three characteristics that lie at the core of the new Pergo Sensation laminate range. “Our goal was to introduce a high-performance, water-resistant laminate floor with a drop-down system for easy installation”, comments Laurent Meersseman, R&D director at UNILIN. “Sensation is another step forward for laminate flooring.”
